If you are using professional lighting, white balance to the color temperature of the light.
#COLOR FINALE 1.6 FIX FULL#
It sounds like you desire full control anyways, so why pay for someones LUT? Fuji already has excellent "LUTS" - their film simulations are essentially LUTS.Ħ You should white balance to a white balance card if you can. Even if everything in it isn't applicable to what you want, the tutorial should be a good workflow for you.ĥ Your color grading should be fine. Get in there and follow a youtube tutorial on some pre-made footage. Never shot in it.Ĥ In my experience, learning by doing is the best way to learn.

Especially in 10 bit.Ģ I'm not sure about flog. Color grading is cool, but maybe start with eterna and try grading that first. I've graded eterna, but never log.ġ I shoot in eterna and sometimes astia. Let me emphasize that I'm only casual, so take my experience for what it's worth. I casually shoot video to share with friends.
#COLOR FINALE 1.6 FIX PRO#
I guess the color grading in Final Cut Pro is easily good enough for me, right? Is it worth to pay for a course like this: - or is it a waste of money? Is there a better alternative? Wich one?ĥ) Is it worth to pay for something like Film Convert? I don't really understand what it gives me since the X-T3 already has film simulations. is there a good book about it? Or a good online course? I use Final Cut Pro X 10.4.7.
#COLOR FINALE 1.6 FIX HOW TO#
how to proceed?Ĥ) I've watched many youtube videos and read quite a few tutorials about color grading / color correction and still have no idea what I'm doing. Do I need to color correct before applying the LUT? What to change before I convert to Eterna? And then. Then I realized that Eterna needs further grading. By the way I do have a Polarpro ND16 filter with adapter rings for my lenses.ģ) In post I tried to use the Fuji LUT (Flog to Eterna) and the colors still look way off. And wouldn't auto exposure underexpose my image because I need to overexpose flog? Hmm. How do you guys manage to keep the exposure constant when the light changes all the time? I could use auto exposure but the X-T3 has a problem with exposure ramping / exposure stepping as far as I know. Is that correct? I only shoot outside, landscapes and nature while hiking. So I played around with film simulations, Eterna, flog, color grading and I have no idea what I'm doing.ġ) How do you shoot videos with the X-T3? Does it make sense for a beginner to shoot flog/eterna and learn color grading / color correction or is it better to just use one of the film simulations or the standard provia setting?Ģ) I tried to overexpose flog by 0.5-1 stop. I also have a tripod to stabilise the footage. The first thing I noticed is that handheld is almost impossible (even with OIS in the lenses) but that's what I expected so I'm not disappointed. This week I experimented with video for the first time. It's all new to me but so much fun and I can't get enough of it. So I spent the last 2 months learning the basics of photography, exposure, shutter speeds, ISO, white balance, focussing, aperture values, metering, film simulations, bracketing modes, custom settings, etc. For the very first time in my life I love taking pictures and when I see the camera all I want to do is go out and shoot. It's actually my very first camera that's not a cell phone cam. I went all in and got 3 lenses, no primes but all of them with OIS: 10-24mm, 18-55mm and the 55-200mm. New here, I bought an X-T3 like a month ago.
